2019 VW Golf Takes 2019 VW Jetta’s 1.4L Turbocharged Engine
There are a lot of changes coming to the newly announced 2019 Volkswagen models. You’re sure to hear about many of these changes over the coming months. However, we’d like to focus on individual topics and details to better inform our audience. Therefore, today, we’ll be focusing on the new engine of the upcoming 2019 Volkswagen Golf which comes from the redesigned 2019 Volkswagen Jetta!
2019 Volkswagen Jetta Engine
Upon its release back in June 2018, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta premiered with a lot of new feature and design changes. One of many was a new 1.4L inline 4 turbocharged engine. This replaced the previous 1.8L inline 4 engine of the 2018 VW Jetta. Although producing less horsepower, this engine greatly upped efficiency and further lightened the newly lean 2019 Jetta.
2019 Volkswagen Golf Engine Power Output
Implemented into the upcoming 2019 Volkswagen Golf, this 1.4L turbocharged engine produces the same amount of horsepower as the 2019 Jetta which is recorded at 147. It has not yet been announced if the 2019 VW Golf will have the same amount of torque as the 2019 VW Jetta, which is 184 lb-ft.
